Abstract
This thesis is an outcome of study of the impact of regional development on changing living environment of historic cities. And the study was mainly focused on the historic city of Matara; which has faced the positive and negative effects and changes of the new developments in recent past and which is and will be undergoing so many new developments in present and future.
