dc.description.abstract Blend of Nahar (Mesua ferrea) seed oil and Karawila (Momordica charantia) seed oil (50:50 w/w %) as a potential source of fatty oil for manufacturing air drying long oil alkyd resins was investigated. The film properties of the alkyd resins prepared using different OH/COOH ratios were examined. Excellent set to touch and dry to touch drying were observed for low OH/COOH ratios. However, chemical resistance was improved with the increase OH/COOH ratio. Hardness, clarity and flexibility properties were comparable with the industrial reference and not significantly varied with OH/COOH ratio.
