dc.description.abstract Designing, simulation and implementation of a scaled down model of a High Pulse Thyristor ac / dc Current Source Converter (CSC) for HVDC applications based on a new concept of Multi Level Current reinjection are discussed. The fundamentals of the reinjection concept is discussed briefly which lead to the derivation of the ideal reinjection waveform for complete harmonic cancellation and approximations for practical implementation. Simulation analysis, implementation procedures, practical issues faced and the conclusions are comprehensively discussed.
