dc.description.abstract Sustainable construction is important for creating buildings and structures that have less impact on the environment. To make sustainable construction more effective, new and innovative techniques need to be used. The success of sustainable construction projects depends on how well these innovations are applied. A study was conducted in Sri Lanka to investigate the use of construction innovations in sustainable construction projects and to find ways to improve their success. The study used a qualitative approach, which involved collecting data through semi-structured interviews and use manual content analysis to analyse collected data. However, the study also revealed that the level of innovation application in sustainable construction was not satisfactory in Sri Lanka. Furthermore, this research discovered strategies that can be used to overcome the challenges of sustainable construction projects in Sri Lanka by adopting construction innovations. These strategies include mitigating challenges to innovation adoption and finding ways to increase the use of innovations. By implementing these strategies, sustainable construction projects can be more successful in Sri Lanka leading to less impact on the environment. en_US
