dc.description.abstract The senate research committee of the University of Moratuwa encourages research activities within the University. Research projects are carried out by different levels of personnel belonging to different faculties and departments. The amounts extended by the university as research support are categorized into two groups and some research projects span over a few years. The senate research committee administrative support is through the academic and publication division which communicates the approvals etc., to those who conduct research. The funds approved by the university is disbursed by the finance division. There are record files maintained at both these divisions. It is important to coordinate activities of both divisions to identify fund disbursement, research progress, fund reallocations and utilization of annual financial allocations. Also a study of the research projects carried out with University of Moratuwa support would enable the senate research committee to identify any future needs. Therefore it is timely to identify the state of research work carried out with the financial University.
