dc.description.abstract The cyclic nature of biomass as a fuel, has taken its advantages over fossil fuel Biomass contributes to the largest share of the renewable energy supply of present world. For effective utilization of energy stored in biomass by combustion a good understanding of the mechanisms involved in the combustion process should be obtained. Study of the mechanisms can be done through experiments or using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. The numerical simulation approaches related to packed bed combustion modeling retrieved from research papers, books and other publications is presented in this work. This will provide a basis for understanding the complexities in biomass combustion modeling in packed beds. en_US
